Makin Privacy Policy

Makin Tech LLC ("Makin", "we", "us"), located in New York, USA, operate makin.io and voiceone.io domains, and all sub-domains ("Sites"), and operate and provide Makin systems, Makin services, and Voice One systems, and Voice One services including Voice Drive, Voice Sheet, Voice Doc, Voice Show and Voice Cal ("Services"). The Services can be accessed when you use our Sites, or when you interact with the Services through third-party systems and services which may include, but is not limited to virtual assistant services, instant messaging services, chat groups, cloud-based file services, cloud-based task list management, booking and calendar services, and cloud-based contact list services ("Linked Services") that you permit us to link to your accounts of the Services.

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") we receive from users of Markin Services. We use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Services. By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. What information do we collect?

We get your Personal Information from your profiles on authentication service providers, which may include, but is not limited to LINE, Facebook, Microsoft, and Google ("Authentication Providers"). Your Personal Information may be contained in Linked Services that the Services has a permission to access. Additionally, you may provide your Personal Information to us while using the Services. Personal Information may include, but is not limited to your name, email address, and profile photo. Mostly, this is used to provide you with a better experience while using the Services.

We won't be using the email address for advertising or for broad public announcements.

As part of the interaction with your cloud-based file services such as Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive ("Drive") through the Services, we get the names of folders and files on your Drive and have access to the contents of the files. As part of the interaction with your cloud-based task list or to-do list management services ("Task"), and cloud-based booking and calendar services ("Calendar") through the Services, we get the contents of your tasks, bookings, and calendars. As part of the interaction with your cloud-based contact list services ("Contact") through the Services, we get the details of your contacts.

We may also collect some web tracking information, information about your usage and your interactions in Linked Services which we use to see how many people are using the Sites and the Services, and how we can improve usage.

2. How do we collect the information?

Your Personal Information come from Authentication Providers every time when your accounts of the Services are accessed.

The names and metadata of your files and folders on Drive are loaded when you access the Services. We access the contents of your files on Drive under the "Makin" and "VoiceOne" folders when you access the Services. We do not access the contents in other folders.

Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Sites ("Log Data"). This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Sites that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze this. Those services may use several different methods, but mostly relies on cookies. Any tracking information may be provided by virtual assistant service providers, or third-party analytic systems. These systems may collect details about your interactions and files.

3. How do we use the information?

Your Personal Information, which may include but is not limited to, your name, email, and profile photo, are used to provide you with good experience, make it better to use the Services for truly exceptional services. They also help you make sure that you are using the Services as you and not, accidentally, as someone else.

Your interactions with the Services, and contents and metadata of the files, tasks, bookings, calendars, and contacts that we obtain from your Drive, Task, Calendar, and Contact providers remain only briefly on our servers, and are used only as part of the primary job of the Services. We may log some of your interactions with the Services, contents, and metadata which may contain Your Personal Information in an effort to assist with debugging and making sure the Services works as expected ("Logging").

Your Personal Information that may be contained on your Drive, Task, Calendar, and Contact may be obtained from those service providers. The information may be used only as part of the specific services of the Services that provide to you in order to organize your files, tasks, bookings, calendars, and to contact people that you know as instructed by you. We do not keep the contents of those files, tasks, bookings, calendars, and contacts in the Services (with exceptions of those contents that are generated by the Services and from Logging). Instead, we may attach metadata generated by the Services to those files, tasks, bookings, and calendar entries to be saved by the Drive, Task, and Calendar providers in order for us to retrive the metadata later as part of the Services that are provided to you.

Certain services of the Services may generate contents which may be shared to you in the form of files that are saved on your Drive under the "Makin" and "VoiceOne" folders. The contents may contain your Personal Information which we already have. We only use that information to provide the specific services to you.

Web tracking information is used in aggregate, and intended to help us make sure the websites are used and how it can be used more effectively. Virtual assistant tracking information is used in aggregate, and intended to help us make sure the Services is working correctly and how it can be used more effectively.

We do not sell your information or sell access to you based on information you have provided to us. The information we provide to others (including Linked Service providers) may, however, be used by them for such purposes, and this use is outside of our control.

4. What control do you have over your personal data?

At any time, you may de-authorize the Services to have access to your Linked Service accounts. If you do so, we will no longer be able to access your files on your Drive, Task, Calendar, and Contact.

5. How do we protect your information?

As much as possible, we try to protect your information by not actually storing it ourselves. Where necessary, your information is stored in a database with limited access. Some data of the Services is attached directly as metadata on the items on your Drive, Task, and Calendar, and is only available to us, or to others, if you have granted access to those.

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. How will we update this policy?

Privacy Policy is effective as of the date shown at the top of this page and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page. We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Services after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy. If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we may choose to notify you either through the email address you have provided us, or by placing a prominent notice on our websites for a limited time. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
